Anyone who’s familiar with intuitive readings using oracle cards knows that there are “those cards” – the ones that are dark and scary. Or perhaps it’s a card with a pleasant image and message but your association from past readings summons fear. I get it. I’ve totally been there many times.
So what do you do when the card you pick gives you a psychic punch? Do you put it back in the deck and pretend it didn’t happen? (Trust me, we’ve all done that!) No… but you knew I was going to say that.
Take a deep breath. Settle your energy. Trust that the angels are guiding you so it HAS to – by definition – be a loving message. And then open to what your angels want you to know.
This card in the post image, God of the Underworld, is from Toni Carmine Salerno’s Angels, Gods and Goddesses decks which is one of my favorite decks that I’ve used many times teaching our Angel Communication Masters class.
And yet, years into using these cards, this one still gives me that psychic punch. The image and words are startling and can feel frightening. It’s easy for me to want to slide it back in with the others and choose again. But, I don’t, because it came forward for a reason.
When we approach a card reading from a fearful place, the guidance we receive is clouded by that fear. Even more experienced readers will receive inaccurate results if they don’t clear the filters that kick in when they see something that triggers a response from a lower vibration.
Best advice is what I said before – breathe, settle, trust and open. And if that feels too challenging at that moment, set the card aside face up to tell your angels that you need to move on, but you’re open to the message when you’re able to get your energy under control.
Then continue on…choose another card, journal, pray, drink some water and do whatever it is that brings you Joy.
Be blessed my angel friend and know the truth within you!
