Did you ever play the game Hide and Go Seek when you were a little kid? One person, we’ll call them “It,” counts to 100 while everyone else finds a place to hide. When “It” is done counting, the hunt begins.

I have memories of playing this game at a friend’s summer house by the sea in Marion, Massachusetts. I loved it. And I was good at it. Really good, actually. Hiding was second nature.

Despite the fact that I was the tallest, regardless of the fact that I was usually loud…I was really good at hiding.

Some of you may know I was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism last winter with energy levels so low I had many-an-expert state “It’s amazing you even get out of bed!”

“Oh,” was my unwaivering response.

I made a miraculous recovery in the spring as a result of my diligent efforts with diet/supplements, prayer, rest, lifestyle changes, and meditation. My doctor was amazed and stated, “There’s some kind of magic at work here!” I smiled inside knowing it was my angels at work. 😉

I’ve slipped backwards a tiny pinch this summer…maybe even more than a tiny pinch. Maybe more like a baby step backwards.

Kids, parents, business, broken washer/dryer…yada yada yada. Yes.

But why…it’s always so easy to look at the obvious things when we aren’t experiencing 100% health. But we are never victims unless we allow ourselves to be. So why?

This summer, I realized that I have been hiding…

I was pretending my first name, Elvia – the name that I was born with – didn’t exist…but that’s a topic for another day.

I have been allowing my experience of low-energy to dictate life choices. I’ve been using it to hide.

My role here on earth is a big one. I know that and it sometimes scares the batoody out of me. So much so, that I manifested an illness. A little ego script within has murmured, “Well if you have this diagnosis, it’s legitimate. You can’t do the work. It’s just not possible.” This has given me temporary refuge.

And yet, my strong connection with the angels won’t allow it. Thank God!

Every morning I ask my angels, “I pray that I experience the gifts and opportunities of this sacred day. Thank you!”

One of the many, blessed opportunities of THIS day is that I am able to share with you this truth… when we are less than joyful, there is always a belief somewhere within that is tattling on us. 

Illness, depression, chaos, all those things that drag your energy down are strategies of the ego working 24/7 to hold you back. The relief you may feel when you curl up under the covers or zone out in front of the television, it’s superficial.

Take heart my dear earth angel friend, because your angels not only can, but will bring you true relief by connecting you with your soul’s purpose AND leading you by the hand to making it happen.

Yes, it takes effort and focused intention to renounce the ego and follow the guidance of your angels, but it’s sooooo worth it!
