Allow the Miracles, Dear One

My dear earth angel friend,

Let’s talk about miracles…

If you were to take a moment and create two lists…one entitled “Things my heart desires and I believe are possible” and “Things my heart desires and I believe are impossible” – what would be at the top of each list?

Do the impossibilities outweigh the possibilities or is it the other way around?

Is there a third list you’d like to create of “Things my heart desires and I believe MIGHT be possible?

This may seem like a random or low priority exercise, yet within your answers lies a clue to unlocking your ability to manifest and experience miracles on a daily basis.

Merriam-Webster defines miracle as “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.”

Many folks would agree with this definition. I’d also add that most people I’ve worked with start out believing that the “human affairs” must be of a certain magnitude. Miracles are events that surprise us and are big, not small. These are events when the “divine intervention” is really obvious – an apparition, a sudden and unexpected healing, a chance and life altering meeting…

While of course these are miracles, I’d argue that every moment holds a miracle. Not because of the gushy, mushy “you’ve got to love life and have gratitude for all you have – it’s a miracle we’re here.” Yes, that’s all true, but that’s not what I’m talking about.

I’m talking about actual evidence that the angels can and do help us with absolutely everything – that divine intervention can happen when you’re getting dressed, weeding the garden, deciding what route to take to work, and on…

I’m talking about the perpetual flow of “events manifesting divine intervention.” They aren’t “extraordinary” to me anymore (although the angels do continue to surprise and delight me!) but they would be to most muggles.

I was looking for a AA battery for our pool clock yesterday in our kitchen “junk drawer.” Momentarily overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and the task of locating an object less than 2 inches long, I prayed “Okay angels, please help me find a AA battery.” As I passed my hand over the contents of the drawer, I was guided to stop. Moving aside a pile of phonebooks and cheese cloth, I uncovered a single AA battery. The only one in the drawer.

A miracle? I’d say yes. A major event, clearly not.

Last weekend, our daughter found 15 four-leaf clovers and 2 five-leafers in the span of about 10 minutes. For real. (See pic below.) She has the “Roe family clover finding gene” and finds them all the time.

A miracle? Again, I’d say yes and also add that the miracle lies within her, because this comes so easily for her and is one of her many divine gifts. This particular one just happens to be more flashy.

Every day I choose to manifest divine intervention in my oh-so-human affairs. I choose it by simply asking for help, by living each moment in prayer with my angels.

And believe me, I ask for help with all kinds of boring and mundane tasks – like finding space in our overcrowded refridgerator, discovering ways to calm our crazy-anxious dog who’s terrifed of the construction equipment across the street, knowing what chemicals to use to clear up the algae in our pool (Peter calls them his pool angels ;)…)

Of course I also ask them for help with what I call “the big 3” – health, wealth and relationships.

You see every moment is a miracle because divine intervention can and does happen 24/7 – with all events and decisions. Your angels never go on vacation. Ever.

Within you, lies the potential for miracles…miracles that happen every day. Your gifts – which may or may not be as flashy as finding seventeen leaf clovers – are just as sparkly and divine.

And it begins with you believing that all your heart desires…are possible.

In the words of the great Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

And so it is.

Quick clover-magic side story – Our daughter was at a park in Tokyo with a friend a couple of years ago and there was a patch of clovers prompting her to tell him about her “harvests.” Thinking she was pulling a fast one on him, he teased that she was fibbing. She responded with “Oh yea?” and reached down to pick a four-leaf clover and hand it to him. 😉

Enjoy your week with the angels dear one, and watch out for those miracles! All you have to do is ask, believe and be open to the possibilities.

With love,

Rev. Elvia Nina
