Depending upon your perspective, everywhere you look you see darkness. People are unkind, there is violence and being in the world hurts. BUT, if you change your perspective, you change your reality. There are many of us who are praying for Earth Changes on a large scale.
I was chatting with our son a few days ago and we were recalling a peace rally I took the children to back when we first entered the War on Terrorism. What Theron remembered was a pro-war gentleman yelling at one of the peace protestors. And then the peace protestor began yelling in response. What ensued was a less than peaceful situation. It didn’t get too dramatic, but the beautiful lesson that was displayed for our children was that acting out of anger, defensiveness, or despair only fueled the fire. If either party had chosen not to escalate…if the peace protestor (an oxymoron to begin with because true peace doesn’t protest) had simply listened and either kept her silence or simply said, “I understand you are angry and have a different opinion, thank you for sharing” the energy would have been diffused and peace would have started on a foundational level.
Ghandi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” BE the peace. That’s how we begin to make lasting changes on our precious Earth.
Blessings of love and peaceful abundance, Rev. Nina
