Creating space for the impossible

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it.

“On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”
~Mahatma Gandhi

On my drive home from the chiropractor a few days ago, I was on the phone with my brother when he exclaimed, “Wow, the stock market’s gone down a lot today!”

Taking a moment, I took a breath, looked around and replied, “Oh! Those trees are beautiful!”

He was confused at first, so I explained, “I’m trying to focus on the beauty that I’m seeing on my drive and not get all worked up about something out of my control.” He agreed that was a good idea.

My intention wasn’t to be dismissive. My intention was to keep myself – and him if he’d allow it – stapled to the here and now.

There’s a lot that appears insurmountable in the world right now. Climate change. Injustice. Lack of equality and basic human rights for all. A volatile political and economic landscape. Even just typing these things… I can feel my heart rate quicken and my body grow tense. Guessing you may be feeling it too.

In any given moment, we are either in the space of fear OR love. They may exist a nano-second apart, but it is against the laws of the Universe to be guided by love and have fear be part of the equation.

Which means…in order to have clear guidance and walk our highest path, our job is do our best to stay in alignment with Love.

As a frame of reference for the ego that may rebuff, there was a time when planes, trains and automobiles were unimaginable…when the idea of organ transplants and joint replacements seemed absurd…when walking on the moon seemed bat shit crazy. And yet…here we are. Travel to Mars is now a conversation.

In order to create a reality that’s beautiful, inspiring and chock full of grace, we are called to open to the possibility that it can happen. It is in our opening that the creative juices flow. Where airplanes and engines and rocket ships are plausible. Where sustainability, global harmony and peace throughout humanity is doable.

It starts with believing that it just might be possible.

I invite you to consider this week…what in your reality feels impossible? I suggest choosing only one thing to amplify your efforts.

Every morning before your day starts, take some lovely deep breaths and ask your angels to show you the way. Open your heart to the potential that your impossible thing may indeed be possible.

The result may be that you see the path entirely anew or you may simply shift your perspective and see that impossible thing differently, more harmoniously in the light of the highest good.

Be gentle and release judgement as you observe the changes.

All love,

Elvia

P.S. And how were those pyramids built anyway?! 😇
