Yesterday marked the time of the year when the days and the nights are of equal length and are wholly balanced. The angels are always reminding us to use nature as a inspiration and so this event provides a reminder to restore balance in our lives.
Balance is a tricky subject because it often involves significant change – something we are often very resistant to consider.
Balance means looking at things in your life that are stressful, draining, harmful or overwhelming and making positive change to reduce the stress, plug the drain, remove yourself from harm’s way and position yourself to live a life that is in control. (By the way, for you word lovers, I just looked up “whelmed” to see if it made sense to use here and it means “to submerge, to completely cover over” so to be overwhelmed is to be submerged to the point of drowning – not good, hunh?!)
For those of you who have been following my writing closely, you know that the angels have been bringing me LOTS of wonderful lessons about compassion and protection. Such an important part of my journey, yet not very easy.
Over the last month, I have had to change the nature of my relationship with 3 loved ones in the interest of restoring balance not just for myself, but also for my family.
In one case, this meant letting go of a teenager living with us who has issues that were affecting the health of our household and my children. She’s a beautiful soul, but has struggled terribly to make the decision to heal.
At some point, you may reach a decision point where either you let go and restore balance, or you allow yourself to go down with the ship.
As I mentioned on Monday in the blogpost Enough is Enough, this is a time of year to be looking at the areas of your life that need compassionate cleansing. If relationships seem to be continually hitting a dead end and you’ve done all you feel you can to work within the boundaries, then the boundaries need to change.
Living a life that is unbalanced and overwhelming is not an option.
Blessed Equinox!
